At the beginning of October, the PlanET Biogas Group held the 20th anniversary of the PlanET group. 340 invited guests took part in the biogas company’s festivity in Westphalian Vreden, which offered a varied agenda all around the company headquarters. Together with employees and distinguished companions of the biogas industry the opportunity was taken to look to the past as well as to the future to appreciate the Münster-region success story.
"It is thanks to our employees, suppliers and customers that we are today among the leading international biogas companies," said Jörg Meyer to Strohe in his opening speech. As the founder and managing director of the PlanET group of companies, Jörg Meyer zu Strohe looks back on 20 eventful years, in which the biogas technology was developed and increasingly grew in economic importance. And yet, the enthusiasm for renewable energy and technology is still the driving force, Mr. Meyer zu Strohe continues in his retrospective. The company was founded in 1998 by the engineers Hendrik Becker and Jörg Meyer zu Strohe. A vision slowly began to take shape: the tinkering was done in teen bedrooms, barns and in the old yard. "The goal: To promote biogas as a renewable energy to protect the climate," said Hendrik Becker. Even today, this guiding principle is reflected in the corporate philosophy. Over the course of just a few years, Hendrik Becker and Jörg Meyer zu Strohe have built up an innovative and internationally competitive company with hundreds of jobs.
An entertaining journey through the history of the company
The guests experienced an exciting and entertaining journey through time, accompanied by many pictures and vivid memories. The varied evening agenda provided for the best entertainment. The apprentices surprised the company founders with a quiz duel and the buffet took the guests on a culinary world tour with international delicacies from all countries with PlanET branches. "We are proud to look back on a history that on the one hand is closely linked to customer orientation, reliability, quality and efficiency and on the other to change and a constant look to the future," said Jörg Meyer zu Strohe.
Donations instead of gifts
Jörg Meyer zu Strohe and Hendrik Becker especially want to thank all the donors who answered the call for donations during the company anniversary. The 7,500 € donation will be used to aid a development project in Kenya that supports schools in slums. All information is available at: https://nyendo-lernen.de/.
