EmKit – Enterprise Solution Kit

Das Enterprise Mobility Kit (kurz: EmKit) wurde von Point Mobile entwickelt, um dem Nutzer bei Inbetriebnahme eines Gerätes direkt eine Reihe nützlicher Tools zum Einrichten mit an die Hand zu geben. Vorinstalliert sind Sicherheitstools, Applikationen zum Fernsteuern, Einrichten und Individualisieren – und natürlich verschiedenste Analysetools.

Was bei vielen Herstellern mit hohen Zusatzkosten verbunden ist, bietet Point Mobile bei allen Mobilgeräten mit Android kostenlos an: Das umfangreiche EmKit. In diesem Artikel geben wir Ihnen einen kurzen Einblick in dieses Toolkit.

Wenn der Anwender lediglich einen limitierten Zugang zu Systemkomponenten erhalten oder der Android Launcher nicht gestartet werden soll, lässt er sich mit dem Power Launcher per Passwort verschlüsseln. Ebenfalls möglich ist unter anderem das Sperren der Bildschirmfotofunktion, freier Zugang zu Wifi Netzen und vieles mehr. Die Hauptanwendungen erhalten auf Wunsch eine eigene Zuweisung der Hardwaretasten, was jederzeit softwareseitig geändert werden kann.

Mit an Bord sind auch vorinstallierte Agents von namhaften MDM-Lösungsanbietern: SOTI MobiControl, TeamViewer und AirWatch – und zukünftig auch MobileIron.

Wenn ein Gerät neu eingerichtet wird können im Handumdrehen Backups eingespielt werden um den vorherigen Softwarestand wiederherzustellen. Dies geht sowohl mit den Einstellungen des EmKits (z.B. Power Launcher oder Program Buttons) als auch mit User Applications. Dank eines eingebauten Deployment Tools wird die Konfiguration eines Gerätes mittels einzigartiem Zwei-Stufen System ermöglicht.
Natürlich finden sich im EmKit ebenfalls nützliche Informationen zu technischen Eigenschaften des jeweiligen Geräts, z.B. Produktbezeichnung, Softwarestand oder Daten zum Akku.
Sollte z.B. eine Software nicht richtig funktionieren kann mittels Logging Tool ein Logfile angelegt werden, welches im Hintergrund mitläuft. Dies unterstützt maßgeblich bei der Problemsuche und beschleunigt die Fehleranalyse. Neben einer GPS-Testsoftware findet sich im EmKit ein Tool, welches NFC-Tags Lesen und Beschreiben kann. Eine Reihe weiterer nützlicher Apps sind vorinstalliert, während Point Mobile stetig an der Weiterentwicklung und Integration weiterer Programme arbeitet.

T32.xS temperature transmitter with new HART® protocol

The T32.xS temperature transmitter from WIKA is now also available in a version which communicates via the new HART® 7 protocol. Its new functions include, among others, an extended measuring point description (Long Tag).

All the other features of the instrument remain unchanged. TÜV Rheinland has once more certified the T32.xS in a full assessment for safety applications up to SIL 3. Due to its compatibility with almost all open software and hardware tools, the transmitter can be used universally. This successful instrument, of which more than one million pieces have already been delivered, is also still available in its previous version with HART® 5.

A new compound, ideal for the challenges of the food and pharmaceutical industry

With this white Vi 770 material, seal manufacturer C. Otto Gehrckens adds another high performance FKM to expand its Hygienic-Seal range for the food and pharmaceutical industry. The latest product innovation comes directly from the development lab, where the high-tech material has been specially designed by COG experts for high material stress in production systems within the pharmaceutical and food processing industry. The central concern was good capability for SIP, CIP and WFI processes, where Vi 770 has been shown to meet the strict Hygienic Design standards. Alongside outstanding resistance to the high stresses caused by the various cleaning processes, the new FKM innovation gets the job done with its very good resistance to mediums and water vapour. In addition, Vi 770 meets the increasing demand in the industry for certified ADI-free seal materials (Animal Derived Ingredients free). Like all COG Hygienic-Seal compounds, the new Vi 770 also has the key industry-related FDA 21 approval, CFR 177.2600, USP Class VI, Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004 and approval according to 3-A Sanitary Standard 18-03. This means that the material can be used in a wide range of applications in the food and pharmaceutical industry and in medical technology, and meets even the toughest demands of these industries. New FKM material specifically to meet the demands of the oil and gas industry

With the newly developed FKM compound Vi 900, the seal manufacturer C. Otto Gehrckens presents a high-performance product innovation for use in the petrochemical industry. The material has proved its suitability as a dependable elastomer seal even under the most demanding conditions, complying with NORSOK test standard M-710 and also passing the hardness test with the best possible rating of 4x ‘0000’, without showing any damage whatsoever. Vi 900 is therefore ideally suited for use in production sectors which, as a result of the danger of explosive decompression, impose especially high demands on the seals used.

The special feature of this new product development is its outstanding stability under low temperatures. With a TR-10 value of -40°C, Vi 900 is suitable for the coldest applications, right down to -50°C and, as well as complying with the NORSOK standard, it therefore also complies with American standards API 6A and 6D for oil and gas installations. According to the manufacturer, combined with an extraordinarily good cold compression set this high-performance material sets new standards in relation to AED (anti-explosive decompression) and RGD (rapid gas decompression) seal materials.

A further plus point for this new FKM compound is its excellent resistance to a wide range of specific media and chemicals, from mineral oils to aliphatic, aromatic or even chlorinated hydrocarbons and also to acids in various concentrations and weak alkalis. And as the material is also characterized by very low gas permeability, a wide range of applications is possible. Vi 900 is used as a seal material in valves, ball cocks, pig traps or slider valves in production areas where the very highest levels of reliability and the best possible quality with respect to explosive decompression are required, above all in the petrochemical industry, in compressor construction and also in compressed air preparation. This new material is available with immediate effect.

CE marking for robot assistance systems of the BMW Group

For safety when working with robot assistants, the BMW Group works together with Pilz: the automation company carries out the conformity assessment including final CE marking. That enables Pilz to ensure safe human-robot collaboration (HRC) at multiple production sites of the BMW Group.

One of the particular challenges when it comes to safety is presented by workstations where humans and robots work together without guards. Here the BMW Group both in Europe and in the USA is trusting in the expertise of Pilz: the automation company is conducting the conformity assessment procedures required by law at a variety of production sites of the BMW Group in Germany, England and the USA, from risk assessment through the safety concept and validation to the CE marking of multiple applications.

Pilz signs the final declaration of conformity as authorised representative, taking responsibility for ensuring that every application meets the requirements of the respective market. The BMW Group employs flexible robot assistance systems in its production. Here workers and robots work together “hand in hand” in the most confined of spaces – entirely without safety fences.

Touching, yes – injuring, no
While there may and can be collisions between humans and machines, these must never present a danger to the humans. That’s why the validation of HRC applications takes on particular importance: the experts from Pilz use a safe and reliable measuring process to determine whether the possible collisions are acceptable in terms of safety. With the BMW Group, as with other customers, Pilz uses a collision measuring set it has developed in-house.

Transition made easy

With the VX25 conversion assistant for parts lists (www.rittal.com/vx25conversionhelp), free data and an intelligent selector and configurator, Rittal is simplifying the transition from the TS 8 enclosure system to its new VX25 large enclosure system.

Control and switchgear manufacturers who want to increase their productivity and bring it in line with “Industry 4.0“ need all their data to be of the highest possible quality. The new Rittal VX25 large enclosure system supports control and switchgear engineering with complete, high-quality data for every process along its value chain – from electrical planning through mechanical design to manufacturing. A variety of web-based software tools are available from Rittal so that companies can quickly, easily and precisely convert to the new enclosure system.

Converting parts lists at speed

Parts lists from the earlier TS 8 enclosure system can now be easily turned into VX25 parts lists with the VX25 conversion assistant. TS 8 parts lists from projects that are to be used again need merely to be loaded into the conversion tool as an Excel file by drag and dop. If the Excel columns are selected based on model no and quantity, the user will receive the desired VX25 parts list with just one click. The program automatically displays items of no relevance for the VX25 in the list. Afterwards, the converted parts list can be simply downloaded or directly placed in the shopping cart for online ordering. TS 8 Model Nos can also be entered individually via a search field, and corresponding VX25 Model Nos and additional product information can be quickly found.

Besides this, plant constructors are also given support in converting from TS 8-based 3D enclosure layouts to VX25 system technology in EPLAN Pro Panel projects. The replacement of TS 8 enclosures and accessories for VX25 articles is largely automated.

Data for all common CAD systems

Rittal provides further help in converting to its new large enclosure system with the easy and free download of detailed, validated CAD data in more than 70 formats, enabling the flexible transmission of data to all common CAD systems. The EPLAN Data Portal can also be employed to load macros of the VX25 bayed enclosure system for mechatronic engineering using CAE/CAD and for generating 3D enclosure layout with EPLAN Pro Panel.  Moreover, Rittal offers data for the VX25 for classification as per eClass (Advanced) and ETIM.

Selecting and configuring products with ease

With the VX25 selector, Rittal enclosures can be easily selected and the corresponding accessories found for appropriate applications. The enclosure types included can be populated to suit individual requirements with a pre-selection of common accessories.

The web-based configurator Rittal Configuration System enables simple and error-free configuration – even without prior CAD knowledge – of the VX25 and the desired installation components.

The tool permits the configuration of free-standing enclosures and bayed suites based on the VX25 – a task that is “plausibility checked”. For example, while accessories are being placed, the system will automatically check if the selected components can be placed at the chosen location. Machining can also be planned with the Rittal Configuration System since the configured data package not only contains the parts list but also a CNC program for the Perforex machining centre and a 3D step model of the complete enclosure including the accessories. This way, the data on the enclosure flows directly into the machining processes. The items configured can be ordered directly via the linked online shop, which makes the ordering process even easier.

WLAN access point: The dome housing or long housing with special glass contains standardized or customer-specific industrial access points. This ensures data transmission in areas with Zone 1/21 categories (also in the sense of IoT)

TWIN system: Temperature sensor in a cable with automatic sensor assignment. Up to 200 active temperature sensors can be installed and monitored in a cable up to 1500m in length. No complex programming with address assignment, but intelligent connection enables easy integration in monitoring and process control systems

IRBM .. Ex d: Controller-limiter Combination with capillary thermostats in a flameproof enclosure. The limiter has its own approval, as it acts in Ex zone. The capillary is leaded through a pluggable cable bushing in order to determine the position on-site.

Programmable LED matrix in a flame proof enclosure. Easy programming of an LED matrix 32 x 192; 16.7 million colors to represent information almost figuratively and thus can be read at a glance. The programming can also be done in advance by Quintex.

Compact heater: Small resistance heater for Ex zones in different power output and operation voltages. Four standardized ranges are available: 6W and 12W for 24V or 230V. Avoiding condensation in enclosures or protecting electronics at low temperatures are widely used in applications that are now also available in hazardous areas.

The dynamic and differentiated growth in the use of servo drives at machines by 2020

Machine-builders expect their machine production to grow by 5.5% per year until 2020. The number of electronic drive components at these machines is expected to increase even more, namely by 6.3% per year until 2020. The number of servo drives at the machines is expected to grow by 8.2% per year by 2020.

Quest TechnoMarketing’s market research has identified three growth trends. Servo use will remain a dynamic growth market until 2020, growing faster than all of electronic drives and faster than machine production. This primarily involves servos at more and more machines for new applications, i.e. extensive growth. On the secondary side, the number of servo drives per machine will also increase to 7.6 servos per machine on average. This intensive growth is associated with the substitution of current solutions.

These growth decisions are mainly made by experienced servo users among machine builders. This is because the number of first-time users of servos among machine builders will only increase by 0.9% per year.

The growth in the use of servo drives in the sectors of machinery industry is very different. Quest TechnoMarketing investigated the ten automation-relevant sectors of the German machinery industry with companies with 100 and more employees. The growth rate of the servo use ranges from 3% to 16% per year until 2020, and the number of servos per machine covers a range of 2 to 19 servos per machine on average. After all, there are industries in which only 1% of the total servo potential will be used and those that absorb 20% of the servo potential.

These indicators support the servo suppliers in targeted market processing and product development. Aluminium Brazing: 10th congress with a new record

The series of successes is showing no signs of stopping: From June 12 to 14, 270 participants and 17 exhibitors from 27 countries used the 10th International "Aluminium Brazing 2018" Congress with an Exhibition in Düsseldorf in order to exchange experience. Together with DVS Media GmbH, the German Welding Society (DVS) successfully staged this international event for the fourth time already.

The organisers and the exhibitors were pleased to establish the constantly growing number of participants in the congress. At the same time, they were also able to register an increase in guests from the Asian region, such as Korea or China.

Dr. Hans-Walter Swidersky, Mentor of Aluminium Brazing, greeted the numerous participants and Dr.-Ing. Hartmut Schmoor, Chairman of the "Brazing/Soldering" Specialist Society in DVS, delivered the welcoming address on the occasion of the opening ceremony. Subsequently, the speakers from all over the world of aluminium brazing provided information. In this respect, the selection of the lectures about the subject areas of materials, testing, applications, equipment, quality management, process control as well as research and development met with great approval amongst the listeners. "Highly interesting, relevant to practice and exciting" was the tenor.

The accompanying exhibition was also received positively and thus well-visited. Here, there were a lot of intensive expert discussions about all aspects of the subject of aluminium brazing. Because all the participants and exhibitors concentrated on "networking" this time too.

With regard to technical relevance, establishing contacts as well as framework conditions, the vast majority of the participants rated the event as good to very good. Thus, two thirds now already know that they definitely want to come again. The next Aluminium Brazing will again take place in Düsseldorf at the end of April 2020.
