In most of train application, many train cars will be shifted according to different destination, which often becomes a maintenance issue when any car changes. As the different car devices were set with different IP address that would need to migrate into the same IP without any manual setting to keep the original train network.

Lantech Train Discovery Protocol (LTDP)
With LTDP-aware DHCP server, Lantech EN50155 switches can discover the current IP addresses and enable the switch to exchange the IP address when any car is merged. LTDP can also react on the link failure or node failure to keep the original IP range and maintain the remaining network function until the replacement is in place. It can also keep the config file when switch is swapped.

Future of Buses: Elektrisch und fahrerlos

Die Digitalisierung drängt die Busbranche zum Umbruch. Erste Innovationen wirbeln den Markt bereits um. Auf der International VDI Conference – Future of Buses, am 28. und 29. November 2018 in Amsterdam, diskutieren Experten, über die Zukunft der Busbranche und des öffentlichen Verkehrs sowie über die nötigen Schritte, um von den Veränderungen zu profitieren.

Automatisierung und Elektrifizierung, diesen Mobilitätstrends gehört die Zukunft. Das weiß auch die Busbranche – und investiert stark in innovative Technologien. Die Mainzer Verkehrsgesellschaft beispielsweise setzt auf Emma. Emma ist ein Kleinbus und momentan noch in der Testphase – das soll sich aber schon bald ändern. Das weiße, futuristisch anmutende Gefährt fährt mit Ökostrom und bietet Platz für rund zehn Personen. Ein Lenkrad, oder gar einen Fahrer, gibt es nicht. Denn: Emma fährt autonom, also komplett selbständig.

Auch die Deutsche Bahn steigt ins Geschäft der autonomen Personenbeförderung ein.

Das Projekt läuft unter der Federführung von ioki, dem neuen DB-Geschäftszweig für autonomes Fahren auf der Straße und On-Demand-Mobilität.  „EZ10“  heißt der selbstfahrende Kleinbus des (Software-)Herstellers Easymile,  der im niederbayerischen Bad Birnbach Gäste vom Bahnhof zur Therme des Kurorts befördert. Ziel des Bahn-Projekts ist es, Straße und Schiene besser zu verbinden. Autonome Kleinbusse sind für den Tür-zu-Tür-Dienst bestens geeignet. Langfristiges Ziel ist ein „ÖPNV auf Abruf“: Ein öffentlicher Nahverkehr mit autonom fahrenden Bussen ohne feste Routen und Fahrpläne, die einzig durch die Nachfrage der Passagiere gesteuert werden. So wird kein Bus mehr verpasst, lästige Wartezeit vermieden und Haltepunkte zielgenau, auf Wunsch des Fahrgastes definiert.

Mobilitätslösungen wie der EZ10i und Emma gehört die Zukunft des öffentlichen Nahverkehrs. Auf der International VDI Conference – Future of Buses, vom 28. bis 29. November 2018 in Amsterdam dreht sich alles um Automatisierung und Elektrifizierung. During current train operation, train cars might need to be separated and reoriented due to more flexible operating requirement. Take MRT for example, it needs more cars during peak hours while only few cars are needed during offpeak hours. A longdistance train route may separate into two shorter trains and heading to different destinations at a junction point. When a train system has higher flexibility, it can utilize the resource and reduces operational costs.
